i waited for hours, though i had only had three drinks. The bar talk blurred in my head, and I felt as though this was a hopeless attempt, like many others before this. I was about to give up and leave this place when a fight broke out in the corner of the bar between a very strong looking demon, and a small in comparison human, who looked indefinitely under age to be in here. I walked over and investigated, a crowed had formed.
"Try and steal my money will you, cur!" the demon roared.
"I'm sorry! Please let me go!" the boy pleaded.
"Never, I've been hungry for too long, and you look delicious!" The demon's maw dripped with saliva... I had to step in before it got gory.
"Stop, wait!" I said, stepping in, pushing the boy back. I dared not touch the demon, for i might insult it and become dessert after the boy...
"What is it human?! You have business here?" He asked me, sizing me up.
"Do as you wish with the boy, if it is how you say that he tried to take your money, but not here." I said, my hand ready for my guns.
The demon snorted "As you wish... Gunslinger..."
I grabbed the boy by the collar and dragged him out side, the demon followed.
"What are you doing boy?" I asked him.
"I... I'm poor, I have no money, I'm all alone, and have nothing to lose..." He said.
"One who wished to steal should learn... to never steal from a demon." I said, recognizing his foolishness.
"I'm very sorry..." he started.
"I'm not going to sugar coat it, kid, you've got a death wish that's just been granted. And you can have it slow and painfully, or quick and painless." I offered.
The kid grabbed on to my leg, and started to cry.
"Mister.. please, help me, don't let hi-" He was cut off by a loud bang... it echoed and resounded off the walls of the buildings. My gun smoked as the boy fell limp and let go of my leg. He lay around my feet, dead.
"You're a real heartless bastard aren't you?" The demon laughed.
"I've been called much worse, but thank you." I said, looking back at the demon. "You may do as you wish now." I said, and walked away.
He was a dead kid either way... it was either by my guns he died, or by the demons teeth, I'm sure he is thanking me from where ever he is.The last thing i heard was a loud crunch as the demon's teeth sunk into the kids flesh and bones.
