Vampires have walked among mankind for nearly as long as humans have existed. In their earlier years, vampires did not try to keep their identities hidden, for the humans could do nothing about them and could pose no threat against their survival. As time rolled on, and humans began to develop their cultures and civilizations, the vampires were forced to be more secretive, or risk being hunted down by masses of humans.
Only recently, withing the last few centuries, have werewolves come into the picture. As a species, they made allies with no one, and merely existed along with humans and vampires. They avoided them and any problems they caused, living on their own. And the vampires allowed them to do so, by not interfering with them. It turned out well for both species. And they coexisted like that rather easily, until now.
Some humans have been made aware of the existence of vampires, though the number is very small. But however few of them there may be, these humans have started to pose a threat against vampire kind. A majority of them have decided to turn themselves into slayers, learning all they can about the vampires and training themselves to hunt them. Most of these slayers decided to take on such a dangerous job because a loved one was attacked by a vampire; which often was the reason these humans came to know about vampires to begin with. All these slayers decided to create one organization, which would help them track and hunt vampires more efficiently.
The vampires became aware of this and decided to take action in order to protect themselves, even though many refused to believe the humans could be very much of a danger. The vampires created a leading organization of their own. The rather small group consisted of six head vampires who would be in charge of everyone else. They would define laws and create solutions to problems the vampires faced.
Not long after the vampiric council was created, two of the members were slain by the hunters. This made the matter even more pressing and concern grew drastically. The four remaining members quickly created a solution; they would use the werewolves to help them protect themselves. The council, and a few others in assistance, began capturing werewolves as slaves. Though the 'wolves were fierce creatures, the attacks were often sudden and unexpected, and many fell to the vampires. The council forced the captured 'wolves to eliminate any threat to any vampire, not just the one who they 'belonged' to after the council gave them to vampires who sought them.
The 'wolves were often treated horribly by their vampiric masters, but they could do nothing about it, for the vampires were very threatening and dangerous. The vampires found the slaves to be very useful, and had no mercy when it came to sacrificing the werewolves for their own benefit. Now, more humans have become aware of the vampires and werewolves, and more have joined the Slayer Society to eliminate the creatures.
Unfortunately, werewolves who have eluded capture by the vampires are affected by this as well. Not only are they forced to hide from potential captors, they are now targets of the hunters because other werewolves were forced to attack the humans, making the entire species an enemy. And now, an ongoing war between the two groups, humans versus vampires and werewolves, both enslaved and free, continues without the majority of the human race knowing. It is a deadly war, with many lives lost. Each side has their own strengths, and their own weaknesses. As of yet, there is no clear end in sight. How this will turn out, is up to yourself and others involved. Which side shall you ally with?
