~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ Juliet panted heavily as she ran down the narrow sidewalks. The night hung heavy in the air, making her look like a glowing ghost in the abyss. Her pale blonde hair flew out behind her, appearing to be at a length that would reach her waist. In her pale hands she held her Rune Cards-- a weapon that looked like glass playing cards. However these cards didn't have a Queen of Hearts on it, those where replaced with special runes that represented the elements. She rounded a corner and leaned her back aganist a wall in the allies. Juliet could faintly hear the rushed steps of the demons looking for her. She held her cards close to her chest and closed her eyes... they passed her.
Relieved, Juliet pushed her tiny body off the wall and hugged the corner shyly. Her innocent glowing blue eyes glanced at the backs of the running demons. They seemed sure she went the way they were running. With a sigh passing through her light pink lips, Juliet quietly walked back to the side walk and looked around. The closest place she could hide seemed to be the park across the street. Absently, she nodded to herself and quickly made her way across the street.
The park was a beautiful place. The first she's seen during her short time on Earth. It seemed that the moment she arrived here she's been chased as if she were still in Heaven being hunted by her father. The idea of finding a safe place calmed Juliet, and she made her way across the lush wet grass to the lake. Her first view of water in it's natural form. Juliet remembered in Heaven how she only saw water in fountians... or remakes of lakes in a more sculpted form. This seemed more pleasing to Juliet, the way the moons light glittered on the surface of the night black water... it was calming. Juliet smiled to herself and sat down, attempting to regain her breath by relaxing...

Elioenai stood there in the shadow of a large tree, head back against its trunk. The night was peaceful, aside from the footsteps he heard a ways away. Running. After or from? Well, that was something he could not tell simply from footsteps, no matter how old he was. His eye opened to stare blankly ahead, considering whether or not it was alright to remain where he was, weighing his options, as usual. Time never seemed to stop around here, not in this dark city where gloom lingered around every corner. People in the streets. Lords living like kings. Even he was not so full of himself.
The footsteps faded, but a new pair separated itself from them, heading toward the nearby lake. Soft. The person obviously did not wish to be noticed, assumedly by those who so recently chased him, or her. That must have been it. He stayed still, looking away and closing his eye, blending into the darkness made by the giant tree’s shadow. He had to admit, for the millionth time since being on Earth, that this human skin was useful with its dark complexion. His normal skin just would not do.
A new figure approached more stealthily than the last, and it only took him a second to understand who it might be. He took a deep breath and suddenly burst from his place, with no sound any human could hear, and movements only the trained eye could see. The side of his hand met a neck, and his foot came around to snap the man’s back. Who do they keep sending? They were terrible fighters, these chosen assassins. Probably volunteers, he mused as he pushed the unconscious, soon-to-be-dead man toward the person by the lake. Opening his eye, he paused, silent and unsure. It was a girl they had been after. Why?
The assassin hit the ground with a thud, and Elioenai looked at the girl oddly, just staring blankly. His expression told nothing, and his mouth did not move into the smirk he thought might form if it could. He glanced at the lake for a moment before his eye darted back to her, sitting on the ground, strangely, and then to the assassin. Why?

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ Suddenly Juliet heard a thud behind her. Startled, she gasped and drew her cards up into a fighting stance, turning almost as swiftly as she took her stance. She blinked as she took in the sight of a demon on the ground and a man standing on the other side of it. Juliet blinked back her suprise and took a few steps back. The look on her face was frightened-- her baby blue eyes resembling that of a lost puppy. Her fingers tightened the grip on her cards a bit tighter as if she was preparing herself for a fight.
The demon flinched on the ground, causing Juliet to stumble back in fear and tripping slightly. She gasped as she felt her body falling backward. Behind her the lake glissened as her falling reflection appeared. She was going to fall in the lake.

The girl was suddenly roused and on her feet in a fighting stance. Not a very good one, in his opinion. She was so small. Did she ever eat anything? He was surprised she had escaped even this demon with those legs to carry her. She is afraid of me. He tilted his head a bit to his left, wondering how on earth this girl could be afraid of him. But he stopped short. After being chased by demons, it could only be expected that she was suspicious of him, or seemingly suspicious. Not only was she small, but she appeared so young. Common among the supernatural, but not like this.
His reaction to her falling was instantaneous, and before he knew it, he was gripping her wrist and pulling her back in his direction. When he pulled her up, his gentle hold on her wrist remained, mostly in an attempt to keep her from tripping over her own feet and partly to prevent her from suddenly slinging those cards at him. Clumsy little girl. He looked down at her with an unreadable expression, and he quickly stepped back after believing she was standing on her own, releasing her wrist.
As if in apology, he bowed his head in her direction. He hoped he had not scared her even more with that, but she seemed too unpredictable to think one way or another. For all he knew, she could slip all over again.

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ Juliet gasped as her body fell back enough for her to process that she would soon be in the water. She closed her eyes tightly-- almost as if she expected this and was awaiting the water to engulf her Victorian Doll body. Truthfully-- she wouldn't care if she fell in the lake. It was a normal thing for her... being clumsy that is. She honestly might be the most clumsy angel you'll ever come across. This was one of the reasons her father considdered her to be a faliure. Honestly-- what angel (besides Juliet) do you know that's as clumsy as her?
Suddenly, her falling stopped-- and a tight pressure gripped around her small wrist. Juliet opened her eyes just as the man pulled her up and bringing her clse to him. Juliet stumbled again, on a little, and got a bit closer then she would of liked to him. Her tiny body was pressed aganist his chest... and it felt rock hard compared to her soft apperance. He was strong no doubt and his breathing seemed easy as if he hadn't even run to save her. She blushed through her pale cheeks and looked up at the man. His face was emotionless... to her very regal and elegant. Such beauty could only come from an angel.
But just as she opened her mouth to thank him, he stepped away. Juliet's child-like face changed from embrassed to confused. It was then that the man bowed his head to her. She figured this ment he wasn't a threat. So why didn't he say it? "Umm... thank you, sir." she whispered shyly. Her voice was a delicate as her apperance-- small and innocent sounding.

He had been slightly alarmed by her looking up at him, but he reminded himself that his hair still covered his right eye. At least that was true. Accidents had happened, and he did not want them to happen again, not to her or anyone else. She did not look like she could take it. Of course, she did not even appear to have done anything wrong. She looked so innocent, standing there like she did, speaking in such a soft, shy manner. At first she had seemed embarrassed. Why, he did not understand. She had blushed. Truly, she was an odd one.
His head tilted again at her confusion, eye becoming a bit warmer for a moment before reverting back to its stony gaze. In reply to her, he only barely nodded his head once, eye never leaving her face. The night was silent again, save for the small sounds of the water as it moved and lapped at the shore. He thought he heard some crickets, but that could easily be his imagination this late at night. Besides, if there were no threatening sounds, he did not feel the need to pay attention to them right now.
The assassin on the ground was no longer moving, and he turned away from the girl for a closer inspection. He went down on one knee and listened. No breathing. He felt for a pulse. Nothing. The body he would leave to rot. He did not feel any honor toward the demon, not enough to bury him, and certainly not enough to bring him home.
With little more than the sound of grass moving beneath his feet, he stood and turned back around to face the girl. Perhaps he should leave. They both should. He had half a mind to turn and leave right then, but if he left her with the other demons still looking. . . .

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ Juliet's eyes shifted from the man's face to the demon on the ground. If it wasn't for him-- that demon would of killed Juliet. She didn't even realize the demon was near her. Honestly, she could of sworn that she was alone. Hell, she didn't even realize this man was here in the park. Proved how observant her curious mind was.
Juliet made her way to the demon and lightly kicked his head to the side so his hair would expose his neck, "Yep..." she muttered, "Hunter..." there was a black tattoo like mark on the demons neck. Juliet saw it all the time. Her father had one too and just like this demon her own father was hunting her. Juliet sighed and looked at the stranger, "My father is working with the demons-- when he changed to their side he had to kill his ties in Heaven. Our family... He.. he killed my brother but I was able to escape. So he told the Demon Lord I was still alive... Guess he also told him I'd be very useful to the Demon Lord with my powers. That's why the demons are hunting me..."
She looked up at the man and blushed, his face was still expressionless and it embrassed Juliet. It made her feel like he wasn't listening-- or that she was just babbling, "I'm sorry..." she whispered shyly, "I shouldn't of told you that-- it's not like it's your problem..." she laughed nervously and went quiet. He STILL wasn't talking. Was it her? Absently, Juliet ran a hand over her hair-- a bit messy but it only made her look more innocent so that was fine. She blushed more and looked down, fiddling with her fingers, "W-- why won't you talk to me...?"

The kick to the demon’s head was a little unexpected, but in Divinous, it was hard to expect any one thing in particular, even around just one person. She had not known of his presence, as it should always be, but he had come out, so here he was, listening and watching. There was little else he could do.
Hunter. He could have suspected as much without the tattoo showing, seeing as he was hunting this girl, and still for a reason he knew not.
Then she went on about her father. So she was connected with the angels. He should have known, judging from what his senses could tell him. It did not make him any less curious. So her father was a traitor. Why would she stay in Divinous if she knew she would be hunted here?
What kind of powers would make her a target? If he knew anything – and he was sure he did – the demons would stop at nothing to gain what they believed was rightfully theirs, or what would be helpful to their . . . cause. But from the way she spoke, she did not belong to them. She did not belong to anyone. How could any being claim rights to another person’s life? It was unthinkable. But, yes, why was she telling him all this?
She was blushing again, and then came the apology. No, it is not my problem, he mused. But he could not let her stay out here alone. Sometimes he wondered why the demons did not just plant a helpless child out in the street for a trap.
So she was getting nervous because he was not speaking. . . . That he could usually expect. There was always some sort of reaction to his speech impediment.
His hand slowly reached up to his neck, touching it lightly with his index and middle fingers, hoping she would get the picture.

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ He still wasn't speaking! What the hell!? Juliet felt like crying almost. She's never experienced something like this. Usually when she talks someone talks back to her. Here she felt very stupid-- like she was talking to herself. Not that anyone ever cared for what a girl as tiny and fragile looking as Juliet would have to say. Maybe this man was one of those guys. Maybe he considdered her small size immature. Juliet frowned at this, her eyes reflecting a sad and lonley expression. The glowing blue color seemed to turn a bit pale. Juliet knew she was small-- but to put her down for her size? For all he knew she could of kicked his butt just because her size was an advantage...
However, when the man pointed to his neck Juliet gasped. So that was it! He didn't have a voice. Well... it would of been nice if he did this earlier-- their conversation could of been going so much further...
Juliet lifted a finger, signing to give her a moment. She reached back and searched through the brown bag that hung at her waist. From there, she produced a notepad and a pen. Juliet turned back to the man and smiled very cutely to him, handing him the items, "There. Will this help?" she asked him, hoping it would. Maybe she'd be lucky enough to get the guys name...

When the little angel – nothing too friendly intended – handed him the pen and notepad, he was a bit taken aback, not sure what he should do. If he took it, what would he write? He was not exactly the note passing kind of guy, whether he could speak or not, and it just seemed absurd.
He took a step back, eying the offered items. He reached out and took them gently, albeit hesitantly. Then he slowly opened the notepad, handling it carefully, as if he thought something inside of it would make it burst into flames. He had not written on anything but large pieces of parchment before. It was a little foreign to him to try and write on something so small. The pen was put to paper, and with a flourish, he wrote out his name. He looked at it for a while, as if it said something vastly important, something he absolutely must understand. In all truth, he still needed to understand that name.
It was all he wrote. All he cared to write. He did not wish to come off as someone ignoring her every word, but did listening mean he had to respond with words? Why were words so important to people all of a sudden? He handed the notepad and pen back, being sure not to smudge to ink. Elioenai. It was hard to understand it. Why had he given her his real name? Trust. He felt he could trust her with it. Perhaps it would prove useful one day.
((Maybe she could start calling him "El."))

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ Juliet watched him carefully as he took her offering in hand. The look on his face made her smile. Sometimes it was funny to see someone so regal and conserved look very confused. Though... his face didn't show the confused expression-- more like his body stance and how he stared at the pad made him look confused. Eventually she couldn't handle herself-- and the little angel started to giggle cutely at him. He was adorable! Honestly, Angel technology was far ahead of a human's but these objects were pretty basic. Juliet was even sure that small notepads existed in this time. However the pen was a bit further ahead. Maybe they were alien to his knowledge? The answer wasn't exactly known but his reaction was cute nonetheless.
Her eyes glowed slightly with excitment as she watched his hand scribble across the pad. It was slightly suprising he was bothering to even write anything-- but it made her happy that he was willing to talk to her. Maybe he could be her first friend from Earth? She felt over joyed! Finally the man revealed what he wrote on the pad. Juliet glanced at it and frowned-- only one word.. and a word she wasn't sure was another launage, a name? Juliet's eyes focused back on his then back to the pad-- there was only one word... and as best as she could pronounce it in her head-- it sounded like a name. She smiled then, and clapped her hands together one-- rocking her weight slightly to show she was happy, "Your name?" she classified, not allowing him time to write an answer, "Umm... I can't pronounce it-- may I call you El?" she paused then, a hint that he was allowed to answer.
Honestly, the little angel was happy he told her his name. Now she had something to call him by. It felt strange to not say a name in her words... just... awakard.

He blinked when she began to laugh, lost in how she could do so in their current situation. She had almost been killed, might have been had he not stepped forward. The problems seemed lost to her now, as if meeting someone new and friendly was an event to celebrate. Once, he might have behaved similarly, a long time ago, had he actually been able to. The way she could be so excited about something so . . . insignificant as this. Her momentary frown caused his mind to spin. Did she expect anything more?
Obviously a name, he thought to himself. Hebrew, if he recalled correctly. It reminded him, again, of how old he was. Good thing he did not age, or he would be, well, nonexistent. And she could not pronounce it. Few people could. How old was she?
El. . . . He figured it would not hurt to be given that . . . nickname, was it? He was not about to call it his real name, most certainly not. But it would not hurt. Not at all. It would definitely make things easier for others when attaining a name for him.
In reply, he only remained silent, the tilting of his head forward the only thing he did to show he heard, and approved, for the most part. He would allow her to call him by that name. He did not believe they would be together long, anyway. But she did not give him her name. Was she playing with his mind, or did she not understand decorum?
((Would've been more thought out, but my sister called in the middle of my writing this, so I rushed it. XD))

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ (That's fine ^-^)
Juliet smiled happily to his approval to the name she had given him. It sure fit him well, El... it wasn't exactly a long name. But the shortness of it made it feel mysterious to her-- like how El presented himself. "I'm Juliet." she told him, "Juliet Yvein Vimir." It was a cute name, delicate enough to fit her. She must of looked like a baby doll since birth for her mother to name her Juliet. "Well... my name is in Angel-- so in english I guess it would be... Juliet Beautiful Elegance..." she giggled softly, "Doesn't really make much sence, now does it?" a smile flashed across her lips.
Why did it seem like her emotions were so out of control. El and Juliet seemed like opposites. She could express emotions without actually knowing the feeling-- they were out of control. El on the other hand couldn't express them at all. It made her wonder if she was meant to find El here. Juliet was very young when her life was thrown into hiding-- she was 10 to be exact. No one really had the time to explain emotions to her. Love was the one that messed her up the most. Forbidden Love tore her family apart when her mother was murdered for her crime of loving a military warrior. Juliet's emotions seemed to change every 2 minutes... maybe even every few seconds.
Suddenly, Juliet heard a russling in the distance. The heavy feeling of danger pierced the air as she looked up at El paniced. She bit her lip, not exactly wanting to be thrown into another battle. Without thinking about it, Juliet grabbed El's hand-- her's feeling soft and gentle as if she wanted him to trust her. She took him-- rather sort of pushed him-- over to the bushes and gasped as she tripped on a root and fell aganist El, knocking them both over and hiding in the bushes. Juliet blushed and remained in this position incase moving would make noise.
"Master Jacob... they've said your daughter was here..." a demon said. "Daddy?" Juliet whispered, more to herself than to El. "Then search for her... I want this whole park searched-- NOW!" "Yes, sir!" the demons gasped, sounding scared.

Juliet. It fit her, and at the same time, he thought a different name would be more appropriate. The last name sounded familiar, as if he should have known it. He would not try to call it to memory. He blinked again. She talked quickly, and perhaps too much, by some standards. The feelings he gathered from her were recognizable to him. Humans were interesting creatures. Always had been. It was one reason he loved what he did. She did not appear to understand, though. This human world was often confusing to young ones.
A faint rustling turned his head, and he calmly scanned for its source. Not within view. Hardly prepared for what the girl did, Elioenai soon found himself involuntarily being pushed in one direction, and he allowed it! Normally, he would have jerked back, probably would have thrown her away from him. But, somehow his mind could not wrap itself around the concept of bringing harm to the girl, and so his limbs went limp with confusion. Panic was not a feeling he was accustomed to, except when he felt it from victims. Why was she panicking so?
Then she tripped over something – he had not noticed what – and suddenly the ground came rushing up to meet him. Instinctively, he wrapped an arm around her waist and put his forearm to the side to catch himself. His muscles tightened when his arm reached the ground, keeping his body from smashing into it. He knew the thud he would have made would have alerted every demon in the vicinity. Elegant is probably not a word to use in describing her, he thought to himself. Or maybe he was thinking of ‘graceful.’ One could look elegant.
For a moment, he stopped breathing, letting his ears listen for the many light footfalls he expected to find. He heard her whisper in the thick of it, and he gently lowered her to the ground as he resumed breathing – though one might scarcely be able to tell. What was he getting himself into? He had not planned on intervening in the underground business of Divinous, not so soon.
We have to leave.

~Juliet Yvein Vimir~ put me to sleep, evil angel... why can't i breathe, evil angel?___________________________________________ Juliet looked down at El, a faint blush on her cheeks because of his arm around her waist. Sure-- this was NOT the time to be blushing but when you have out of wack emotions it was hard to stick to one and continue with other problems. She wondered what he was thinking through. She was clumsy as hell? Why did he have to save this girl? A lot of things she could of put herself down for. Instead of asking him and peaked out from the busches and watched as the demons and her father passed them by. Juliet let her held in breath go-- feeling slightly relieved. This would be their chance to go.
Moving off of El, she crawled over to the end of the extended bushes, peaking out again to see where exactly they were-- all scattered by the looks of it. They must of been smart enough to realize staying in a group wouldn't find Juliet quickly. Juliet frowned, "We had to be stuck with the one smart group of demons..." she muttered, irritated with this fact. It was because they were with her father-- no doubt. Her father who was a commander in the angel army. How lucky must she have been to have that type of man hunting her? Not very...
Juliet looked back to El with a confused look. She never had to deal with a plan like this. The other groups that hunted her stayed in a group-- they never seperated. She bit her lip and tried to figure it out. What if they took out a few demons so their escape was more likely to happen than if they kept them alive? She waved her hand at El as if trying to get his attention. She sliced her finger across her neck as if showing him her plan. To be honest she just hoped that he had a batter plan then hers.
